Suri Fiber - Raspberry, Cornflower, Musk, Violet, Medium Brown 00370

Hand Dyed Suri Alpaca Fiber, carefully skirted, then washed, hand dyed, and laid in the sun to dry, ready to be carded for spinning or spun right from the locks for a textured art yarn. The locks of fiber are wonderful in art batts, as embellishment in felting projects, or in needle felted paintings adding silky texture and curl. The fiber can be woven with, even knit or crocheted. Suri fiber also makes gorgeous doll hair.

Gaywool Dye colors Raspberry, Cornflower, Musk, and Violet, combined with Natural Medium Brown were used for this pretty combination of colors. Imagine the fun you'll have working with this lovely fiber in a creation of your own!

Fiber in this package is the prime fiber from several different alpacas. It ranges in length from 4 Inches - 5 Inches.

What Are Suri Alpacas?

Suri alpacas are distinguished in the camelid family by their unique fiber characters. The fiber grows parallel to the body while hanging in long, separate, distinctive locks. Its artistic style enhances the graceful appearance of the animal compared to the soft, wooly look of huacaya alpacas.

Suri fiber locks, made up of high-luster fibers, drape down the sides of the body in a twisted or flat form of various size. Suri fiber has a slick hand and softness with an exquisite luster.
