Experience alpacas up close and personal by taking an alpaca for a walk! Breathe the fresh air, enjoy the beauty of nature around you, exhale, relax, de-stress, and get one-on-one with an alpaca that is to be your hiking buddy for the duration of your Alpaca Walk. Each alpaca has a name and has its own unique personality and charm!

Alpaca Walks are most enjoyable in nice weather, but can be scheduled year round with the exception of the month of December.  We are open to Alpaca Walks during winter months as long as it is not muddy, icy, raining or snowing, which does make it difficult to schedule them.  Though you may reserve a winter date, we cannot guarantee that date until checking the weather conditions the day before.   Think Spring!

Masks are required while in close proximity, in the barn/paddock area, and when shopping in our Farm Store.

Children must be at least 12 years old to walk an alpaca on their own.   Children aged 8 to 12 may walk  an alpaca providing that each child is accompanied by an adult, who will have a second lead on the alpaca.  For younger children, find out about our Farm Tours.

      walk an alpaca

Your adventure will begin with a short introduction to your pre-selected alpaca along with proper handling techniques. We will start out with a walk around in one of the pastures to get you comfortable with walking your alpaca.

We can share with you a little bit about alpacas, as much or as little as you’d like to know.

Alpaca Selfies

Of course, you’ll want some pictures!

Mike and Ike

As we leave the pasture, we’ll introduce you to our Angora goats, Angora rabbits (sometimes we have babies), and our chickens.

Alpaca Walks

We’ll set out towards the woods where it’s quite possible that we might see deer, or wild turkey. Terrain may be rough, bumpy, or muddy so may not be suitable for some.

We’ll make our way through a labyrinth of walking paths, venture into the hay field, then off through the woods.

Depending on the time of year, the beauty of nature is always an amazing sight. Experience mother nature, alpacas, and an inner peace that will leave you feeling grounded the rest of the day, perhaps even longer.

We can share more alpaca facts along the way, and stop for photos whenever you like.

You’ll find the trip back to the barn a little quicker as our alpacas are always happy and excited to be back with their alpaca friends.

You will have the opportunity at the end of your alpaca walk to visit our Farm Store, see all the amazing things that can be made from alpaca fiber, and purchase alpaca products or souvenirs if you so desire.
