Product Details
Natural Suri Alpaca Fiber, carefully skirted, then washed, dyed, and washed again, ready to be carded for spinning into yarn, blended with other fibers, or spun right from the locks for a textured art yarn. Suri alpaca is nice blended with silk, seacell, tencel, cormo, merino, kid mohair and rambouillet, and usually 10% is enough. Suri Fiber is fun to use as embellishment in needle and wet felting projects, can be used in weaving, in knitting or crochet, and various craft projects.
This is the prime fiber grown by a suri alpaca male named "Shiya", 10 years old at time of shearing, and is of medium fineness. Higher grades of suri such as this make wonderful novelty yarns and loopy boucle yarns with lots of volume and texture. It has been dyed with a Gaywool dye color called Citrus. The locks average approximately 4" when pulled straight.
Each package contains 2 ounces of fiber. Two ounces of fiber will fill a sandwich size baggie, as pictured.
