Wet felting is one of several methods which can produce felt from alpaca and other animal fibers. Warm soapy water is applied to layers of fiber placed at ninety degree angles to one another. Repeated agitation and compression causes the fibers to hook together into a single piece of fabric. In this class you will be wet felting a pair of the warmest mittens you have ever worn. Felting around a resist, you will be amazed at how a mass of fiber magically becomes an article of clothing custom fit to your own hand ... no knitting or crocheting required! Please bring a towel, a pair of sharp scissors, and a Sharpie. All other materials will be provided.
