Usually I crochet, but I saw this knitting pattern for Simple Autumn Mittens by Halldora J on Ravelry and thought I just must share it. I love the feminine, lacy, pattern … don’t they look super soft and wonderful?
The mittens pictured are made with Paca Paints Yarn from The Alpaca Yarn Company, using the colorway called Wisteria Way. This yarn is 100% alpaca in a DK weight. I know these mittens are soft and I know they are warm, because they’re made from alpaca … I can almost feel them on my hands!
Paca Paints Yarn comes in twelve different colorways. I think anyone of them would look spectacular knit up into these mittens.
Just one skein of this yarn is all it takes, and five DPNs (Double Pointed Needles) in size 2.75 mm (US 2) or the size needed to obtain gauge. Prefer Circular Needles? Go for it! Circulars are merely a different way to hold the stitches, the pattern doesn’t change. See DPN or Two Circulars or Magic Loop?
If you’re not a member of Ravelry, you can also find the pattern here. Instructions are both written and charted. For that pattern see, Cabin Autumn Mitts.
